NIEUWSMagna and the largest Russian bank “Sberbank” will leave GM the biggest Opel holding of sharesOn Monday Magna consortium and Sberbank have presented General Motors concern a new application regarding obtaining Opel brand, according to this application Canadian and Russian companies will hold not 20% and 35% of shares respectively, but 27,5% each. At the same time Opel share holding that is 35% (the biggest one) will be held by GM and the rest one will be held by collaborators of the German company. This information is given by Reuters agency with the reference to its own sources which are familiar with this situation. As it was said earlier, a new proposal of Canadian-Russian consortium was planned to be submitted in an ultimatum way, this means whether Opel will be held by Magna and Sberbank with all the rights for use of the intellectual property, including a possibility of making any alterations to construction of cars and making copies of some engineering solutions, or the companies renounce making a bargain. It is not said was this condition announced within the frame of the final proposal of Magna and Sberbank or not. Monday, 20th of July, is the last day for filing final applications for Opel which will be considered and brought to the tutorial council of German company by July 22. Magna and Sberbank offered EUR 500-700,000,000 for 55% holding of shares, but Belgium Investment company RHJ claims to this company as well (this company intends to buy the brand for EUR 175,000,000) and BAIC, Chinese producer of cars, intends to buy 51% of the company for EUR 660,000,000. auto.lenta.ru all news |
