Political perfume: YUKOS trademark will be transformed into a perfume brand.

Only in Russia the perfume can become into a political tool. Mikhail Sunnikov, the owner of Sunny cosmetics company, decided to produce a perfume with a company symbol to support Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the ex-head of YUKOS.

Sunnikov decided to transform the well known yellow-green triangle that was a logo of YUKOS, not only into the symbol of Sunny perfume, but into a symbol of solidarity with Khodorkovsky. Sunnikov admits that the arrest of YUKOS head had a rather negative influence over the business climate in Russia.

Sunnikov still does not tell what the future “political” perfume will be. Now the project is at the most beginning: Sunny company has recently filed the application to the Rospatent (Russian Trademark Office) to register the former symbol of YUKOS as a trademark for the perfume. According to the law, Sunnikov possesses good chances that the yellow-green triangle will really become the symbol of the perfume line: Rosneft, the oil company that got a part of YUKOS property, including intangible assets, does not have a right to use the symbol as a logo for perfume goods.
